The Fifth Season
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), we're entering the transition from late summer into autumn, a time when Nature begins turning inward. As the air becomes drier, it's common to notice things like dry skin, a scratchy throat, congestion, or feeling a little less energized.
In this month's Fifth Season themed Qigong class, we'll use gentle movements, breath, and mindfulness to support the lungs, encourage healthy circulation, and help your body adapt to the changing season. This ancient practice is performed standing but can be adapted to a chair.
Eat a snack or light meal prior, and wear comfortable clothing.

AWAKEN
Building from the same principles as Ease, this class is meant to leave you feeling energized. Through rhythmic movement, joint stabilization, shaking, bouncing, and balance, we invite more cardiac involvement to exercise the vessels and help fluids to move more freely. Your heart rate may rise, but this isn’t conventional “exercise.” Awaken offers moderate-impact, head-to-toe movement that helps you find your edge through gentle challenge. Adaptable, but requires some balance and stamina.
What to bring: Come hydrated and dressed in flexible clothing. A yoga mat and chair/stool is recommended, and any desired pillows or props you may need to create a setup that feels safest for you.
